The greatest achievements of our Mandarin learners

It is with great pride and honor to announce one of the greatest achievements of our Mandarin learners that were shared lately with our dedicated Mandarin senior teacher, Ms. Olivia Azmy. At Gateway, we strive to support our students’ participation in the community at a range of levels, from the local to the global to prepare them to be effective global citizens. Hence, our school is one of the international schools across the world that implements the Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP); it is a funded program that exclusively targets foreign language instruction in elementary and secondary schools. Please find below the list of schools in some countries that apply the Chinese language as a second foreign language.

Recently, Beijing Foreign Studies (BFS) issued their latest results for the Chinese Language Proficiency Level Classification of schools/students. We are grateful that our upper elementary and middle school Mandarin learners ranked 6th for the SY 2018-2019. Furthermore, with much effort and dedication, our students enhanced their ranking to become the 4th for the SY 2019-2020. 

The chart below depicts an evaluation of the educational level of students learning the Chinese language among different countries based on the educational years 2018-2019 & 2019-2020.
