Gateway International Montessori School became an IB World School for the Diploma Programme one year ago and now it has become an IB World School for the Middle Year Programme. 

Congratulations to all our community: students, parents and staff members. This is great news for current and future students and their parents: Grades 6 to 12 students of the Gateway International Montessori School now have the opportunity to attend one of the most popular and internationally recognized  programmes: International Baccalaureate Middle Year Programme  (IB MYP) and  Diploma Programme (IBDP).

Finally, Gateway International Montessori School is sending a token of appreciation and gratitude to each and every member in its IB MYP  Programme team who has worked diligently for the past 2 years to make this dream become a reality.

Our DP1 students conducted our first 5K Charity Run. Tickets for this event were for a charitable purpose. The purpose of this run was to show our Solidarity with Palestine. The event was planned to support the Palestinians during the terrible war that is taking place, and to show our support by reviving their culture and collecting donations to be sent to and Mersal Foundation to support in the aid that is being sent to them.

DP students attending an Academic Writing Workshop with Ms.Nahla Atef. This workshop contributes to the preparation of our students for their Extended Essays , which is a DP core subject. It also aims to familiarize them with the nature of Academic Writing and Research Skills. The workshop is to be followed with another session next week on Developing Research Questions. Students had the opportunity to ask university representatives about the programs they offer and the requirements to apply for them. Happy Holidays! Dear Gateway Community Members, We wish all a happy New Year. May the coming year,2023, be full of prosperity, growth, abundance, and success in all fields of life for all humanity. We would love to announce that Gateway winter break starts officially on Sunday, 25th December until January 9th, 2023. However, we would add that during this period our great admission team is following up with the admission process for the Academic year 2023 -24. They will be available on all working days except for January 1st, 2023.

On Thursday, December 15, 2022, our grade 4 to 10 students filled the space of our Gateway auditorium with beautiful presents they granted to Gateway parents, guests, and staff members. Their presence on stage at the end of Gateway first term and before their term exams ornamented their first term effort with a lovely crown made of beautiful flowers, and precious stems.Dear students your gifts are certainly appreciated, loved and cherished. The essence of such performances is to see you on stage, manifesting some of your talents to whom you really want to share with part of yourself. Keep it up, dear students. Gateway loves you.

Hour of Code is a Global event , teaching coding or programming, happens in all schools across the world . Our Gateway International Montessori School is honored to be part of this movement to increase the social and technological awareness among our community. In this event students become the mentors and instruct their beloved parents how to do coding and demonstrate the skills and knowledge they gained during ICT/Design classes. What a special day!It was our pleasure at Gateway International Montessori School to host many international schools to participate in the Swimming tournament for girls U18 & U14.It was a very exciting, interactive and athletic experience for Gateway girls who enjoyed the competitive atmosphere with other teams. We are very proud of our girls' performance and we appreciate the effort they exerted during the tournament. This event was organized by our Physical Education Department, headed by Mr. Hazem Mahmoud. Moreover, we were honored and happy to have among us teams from different International Schools.

Gateway Wear it Pink 2022 Today ,October 30th, 2022, Gateway students participated in our Breast Cancer Awareness Day and in one of the heartwarming fundraising event. Our students wore pink, held a successful Bake Sale for fundraising purposes and above all they experienced thinking of others, being proactive towards others' needs, and felt that they can feel happy when they work for the welfare of their fellow humans. Thank you dear students, parents and staff members for such a meaningful event.

Joining a new school brings with it exciting prospects and hope for the future. It is also a big change, for you and your child. We would like to make your transition to Gateway seamless, and give you confidence in the knowledge that you are leaving your child in safe and experienced hands.

We would therefore like to cordially invite you and your child to join us this Thursday, September 15 for our annual Newcomer Welcome Hour. This is an opportunity for us to give you a warm welcome into our community and for you and your child to spend quality time with your child's teachers in the classroom. It is an opportunity for your child to meet with his or her teachers and become acquainted with them before the official start of the academic year.

During this hour, your child's teachers will give you an overview of the Montessori philosophy and how it will be incorporated into your child’s everyday life at Gateway. You will take a tour of your child's classroom and learn about the different subjects that will be taught over the course of the academic year, and the unique Montessori materials that your child will use to learn them. There will be a 15-minute Q&A session at the conclusion of the hour should you have any inquiries.

Dear Gateway Community,

I’m delighted to welcome all returning and new students and families to Gateway International Montessori School. Gateway is a learning community that is committed to helping every child to grow socially, emotionally, and academically in a safe and nurturing environment. We are eager to have all learners back on campus and have another exciting year full of remarkable learning opportunities.

It’s my great honor to be part of Gateway as the School Principal and the Dean of Academics. I consider myself a lifelong learner who strives to contribute positively to society, human well-being, and development. In view of that, I’m avid to research teaching, learning, and leadership from different perspectives. My passion for exploring diverse methods to support learners with engaging and empowering learning opportunities started nearly twenty years ago. Throughout the years, I took part in the international educational field as an educator, administrator, professional trainer, and academic consultant for international schools in and out of Egypt. My educational background entails several diplomas in teaching adolescent learners, coaching, school leadership, and a Master’s degree in International Education and Policy from American University in Cairo (AUC) coupled with being a certified International Baccalaureate (IB) Head of School and a certified Association Montessori International (AMI) School Administrator.

At Gateway, we pride ourselves on having a loving and caring community that strives to cultivate a generation of balanced, ethical, independent inquirers, and creative problem solvers. Furthermore, as a community, we consider every challenge an opportunity to learn and develop. I would like to pay tribute to all our dedicated teachers, resilient students, and supportive parents for their outstanding commitment to adapting to the unprecedented challenges posed by the ongoing outbreak of the pandemic. It is a solemn duty to protect yourself and others, so lead by example in all aspects! This effort cannot be achieved on an individual basis; it requires diligent commitment from everyone.

In closing, I wish to stress that the safety of our students, staff, and families while providing quality education is our foremost priority. Given that, these goals will remain at the heart of our decision-making process. Gateway welcomed the month of Ramadan with a heart filled with peace, harmony and joy. May the divine blessings of Allah protect and guide you. Gateway International Montessori School's lovely students decided to help others by packing Ramadan bags with the support of Orman Charity Association. We are very proud of their enthusiasm while packing the bags.

Ramadan is a good opportunity to share your blessings. Gateway International Montessori School hosted an event EAM Foundations held. Gateway also played a role in sharing and teaching good deeds. It was a memorable and useful day for these lovely kids. Such events teaches kids the importance of giving back to the community along with their important role.

Creating Peaceable Learning Communities through Informed Classroom Leadership
This workshop is designed to help teachers understand the unique dynamics of a Montessori approach to discipline for children at every level. Workshop participants will learn about the philosophy and methodology of Maria Montessori’s approach to discipline and how her insights and methods, developed over a century ago, still inform our work today. Teachers will explore the three levels of obedience and the preparation of both the teacher and the environment. Teachers will survey the basic needs of children and identify how the Montessori classroom provides an appropriate framework for meeting our most fundamental needs. Teachers will learn how to create a classroom culture that includes the perfect balance of nurturing and reasonable limit setting so that children evolve, grow and learn to be self-disciplined and internally motivated to make positive choices in their ever day behaviors. Practical use of such skills and techniques as using Encouraging Language, Affirmation, Class Gatherings, I-Statements, Logical and Natural Consequences, and Firm versus Soft Language and Actions will also be presented and practiced. An overview of the strategies and skills children need to develop peaceable behaviors will also be introduced.
